“Toward A Regional Centre of Excellence in Dermatology”

Department of Dermatology is a tertiary dermatology referral centre in northern region of peninsular Malaysia. It includes 3 main categories of diseases – Skin, Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) & Hansen’s disease (Leprosy).

Objectives

1.       Treating skin disorders which include sexually transmitted diseases and leprosy, to reduce the pain, disfigurement, mortality and morbidity caused by the illness.

2.       To reduce the incidence of skin disorders by

A.      Health education and advice to the public

B.      Notification of communicable diseases as stated by law

C.      Providing training and continuous medical education to locally or abroad medical personnel, paramedics and medical students.
